The novel tells the story of John Clayton, Born in the jungles of the western equatorial coast of Africa a couple Marooned in England, John and Alice (Rutherford) Clayton, Lord and Lady Greystoke. Adopted in infancy by ape Kala after his parents died (his father is killed by the wild monkey king Kerchak) Clayton is called "Tarzan" ( "white skin" in the language of monkey) and grew up in ignorance of his human heritage. feel alienated from their peers due to their physical differences, he found the cabin of his real parents, where learned from others like him in his books, with which he learned to read with time. On his return from a visit to the cottage, is attacked by a huge gorilla who manages to kill his father with a knife, but is terribly wounded in the fight. As it grows, Tarzan becomes an experienced hunter, exciting the jealousy of Kerchak, the chief of monkeys, which eventually took him. Tarzan kills Kerchak and takes his place as "king" of monkeys. Later, a black African tribe settled in the region, and Kala is killed by one of his hunters. Revenge on the murderer, Tarzan starts an antagonistic relationship with the tribe, the raid on their village in search of guns and cruel practice tricks with them. These, in turn, be regarded as an evil spirit and try to appease. Subsequently, a new party of whites is isolated on the coast by Jane Porter, the first white woman Tarzan has ever seen. Tarzan's cousin William Cecil Clayton, ancestral domain grabber monkey man's unconscious English is also in the party. Tarzan spies newcomers, support, and Jane guard against the dangers of the jungle. Absent when saved, is presented later in the mysteries of civilization by French naval officer Paul D'Arnot, saved the Indians. D'Arnot teaches Tarzan of the French and how white men behave, and guide to the nearest edge of the colony. Ultimately, Jane Tarzan is native to Baltimore, Maryland to see now found in the woods of Wisconsin. Tarzan meets Jane finally in Wisconsin, where renew their skills and learn new bitterness that has been promised to William Clayton. While So the test cabin of his parents, Arnot helped prove the true identity of Tarzan. Instead of claiming his inheritance, Tarzan chose to conceal and renounce its assets to Jane's happiness.
